Tonight we had a dinner party with Courtney and Zane (Mike was unavailable). Zane had heated up mush and the rest of us had barbequed chicken sandwiches and french fries! Here’s a quick video of what Zane thought about it all:

2008_04_06_003.jpg On March 24th, Mommy and Daddy had their 8th wedding anniversary! That’s twice as long as we’ve even been alive - that’s a pretty long time! We went to Nana and Tata’s while they went out to dinner at Fleming’s and saw a the movie 10,000BC (Mommy didn’t see much of it, she was asleep for half of it! :)).

Happy Easter!

2008_03_23_075.jpg Easter was a lot of fun. We got to celebrate the holiday the entire weekend! We celebrated Saturday at Nana & Tata’s house along with our fellow twins R.J. & Kalyn. We went on an Easter egg hunt and got to color our own eggs! And today was incredible! The Easter bunny left us a trail of eggs that led us to our very own baskets filled with too many goodies to mention. We spent out afternoon at our Uncle Shaun’s and Auntie Erika’s church picnic. We got to go on another hunt which of course WE LOVE! Any event that entails hunting for eggs filled with candy we are all about!

(…and related to Easter…)

We also went to our first dentist appointment! While we did NOT want to get our teeth cleaned, we eventually did and we are proud to say that we’re part of the ”No Cavities Club”! We got our picture taken and it was put up on the wall with all the other no-cavity kids.

Accepted!

Preschool!A couple exciting things to report! The girls attended a preschool screening last week to see if they would be able to make it into the preschool program. Although they were shy and didn’t say much, the teachers told us we’d know within the next couple of days if they made it in or not. Well, they called only a couple hours later to let us know that the girls were accepted and that they couldn’t wait to have them in class! After the screening, we spoke to the teachers and they mentioned the idea to us of splitting the girls up into separate classes to allow them to flourish on their own and become more independent. They’ll still have recess together and lots to talk about each day after school, but we liked the idea and are going to give it a try (hopefully, they’ll be ok with it, too!). :)

The FarmOver the weekend, we had a fun morning/afternoon on Sunday. We started at IKEA for breakfast. You may laugh at this and say “What does IKEA have to do with breakfast??”. Well, if you’ve ever been in an IKEA store, you know they have a cafe inside (actually two at the one in Phoenix). And you know that their prices are VERY reasonable especially considering that the food is actually pretty good. Breakfast is their best tasting food and it’s SUPER cheap. Where else can a family of 4 eat out for breakfast for under $10?!? Not even McDonald’s is that cheap - and their breakfast food is not nearly as good as IKEA’s. After breakfast, we visited a place in South Phoenix called simply “The Farm”. It’s an old pecan grove that has been partially turned into a farm with other sorts of crops. It’s also got two restaurants and meeting facilities and special events such as weddings and the like can also be hosted there. We also took our professional photos there in 2006. It’s a really nice hidden little place that’s great for bringing your own picnic or eating at one of the restaurants - we also like to pick stuff up from their pie/fruit bar on our way out.

Also, there’s new pics up - go check out the galleries! We also added a permanent link under Favorites to our neighbors’ blog about their new baby Zane - we’ve mentioned it before - it’s called The Human Glynn Project.

The Perfect Saturday

Saturday PicnicThis past Saturday, we went to the closest body of water we have in the Phoenix area - the tempe town lake. We brought a blanket, a picnic basket, a mini-football, and Mayble! We sat down and had lunch (sandwiches that Mommy made) in a grassy area.

After lunch, we started walking down by the edge of the lake and after a couple minutes, we noticed a little toy floating by in the water - what else would it be but a Hello Kitty face! If you’ve looked at the girls’ birthday party pics, you know they LOVE Hello Kitty. How random and how funny!

Tackle Daddy! After that we played some tackle football. Actually, it was mostly Daddy laying down on the ground and Mimi and Yaya jumping on him. :) Our day at the park ended with a walk down the rest of the “shore” of the lake. On the way home, we stopped for some gelato!
