The makeover from the old pink layout to the new and improved pink (oh wait, the girls have notified us it’s fushia – did I spell that right?) layout is almost done. Post formats are set in stone and we’ve got the new flash header with the cool transitioning pictures and the picture viewer on the side. Now we just have to finish getting caught up with adding pictures and a video gallery to the site – stay tuned!

P.S. The link under “Pages” on the sidebar titled “February 2004” is a preview of what our new photo galleries are going to look like.

Update 11:30PM: While Courtney and Mommy were watching Enchanted, we now have our video gallery finally posted! Click on “Videos” under “Pages” on the sidebar on the right –>…or click here. 🙂

The Disco Diva

(Scoop from Mommy & Daddy)

We took the girls to a wedding on Friday the 28th and something magical happened. When it came to the dance portion of the wedding the lights came down, the disco ball came out and so did Mimi! Something magical happened. Mimi turned into a DISCO DIVA! She was showing us moves we have never seen before. Typically in ballet class along with Yasmine they follow the movements of their instructor but are somewhat reluctant to show them off in class by themselves. Thanks to the Disco ball goddess Mia had her moment in time. Enjoy the video!

New Look!

Daddy gave the site a quick facelift. 🙂 We turned the site into a regular blog with links to our photo galleries and guestbook (and external favorites!) on the sidebar. Doing this gave us quite a few options for new graphical themes and we chose one that had clean lines and similar colors to our old layout. We also categorized all the blog posts so you can find posts by categories such as holidays, birthdays, events, outings, family updates (usually, these are updates on what the girls are up to or what they’ve accomplished), etc. We still need to update the themes for the photo galleries and guestbook to match the new front page theme, tho. We also want to make the picture at the top a randomly chosen one from a group of images (UPDATE: this is working now – for now, we’ve got 5 images up there – keep refreshing/visiting until you see them all!). Look for these updates soon!

Let us know what you like or don’t like about the new look!

P.S. Don’t forget, the photo galleries are now linked on the top right —>

P.P.S. Photos links are over there —> 🙂

Update (9:00PM): Photos through the end of 2007 are now up in the galleries! Almost there… 🙂

No, this isn’t a post about the girls when they don’t get what they want. 😉 It’s a little PR for daddy’s new game that was just announced on Valentine’s Day.

Deadly Creatures

Daddy’s been working on this Nintendo Wii-exclusive game for over a year now. He’s mostly been responsible for writing the code for how the wii controller interacts with the game and the code for the combat systems and some of the camera systems. Here are a couple links:http://www.deadlycreaturesgame.com/ – this is the main site where you should always be able to find the latest information

http://wii.ign.com/articles/852/852222p1.html – this is the most in-depth preview that came out on our announcement day, there’s a few exclusive screenshots here that aren’t on the main site

Leave some comments to let us know what you think!

Happy Halloween 2007!
Now we’re caught up through the end of 10/07. You’ll be able to see the finished product, in terms of our pool project and some of the fun we had with it once it was finally done. You’ll also get to see Mommy’s birthday cake and the girls’ Halloween costumes. You might notice that they wore them A LOT during the month of October – and with good reason – Nana spent hours open hours sewing all those beads and sequins on to them. 🙂

We’re almost caught up!

P.S. I’ve setup a reminder for myself to make sure we update more regularly. 😉

A few more pictures added…

Added pictures up through the end of 5/07 – still lots more to go to get caught up. 🙂

In case you’re wondering about the time of this post – yes, that’s right, it’s about 3AM – Mimi is having one of the girls’ infamous fever spikes right now and I’m on watch until it gets down to 98 again (pretty close now).

Update 9:52PM: We’re caught up through the end of 7/07 now – we’re getting there! You can see almost all the pictures of the process of getting our pool put in including the day we started adding water and our first real swim in it!

Update 11:54PM: Daddy wanted to upgrade the wordpress (blogging software) version. That snowballed into upgrading mysql, which was a pain in the tush to get back and get the databases and users restored. Here we are with the blog back – next will be to get the photo galleries back – stay tuned…

Update 12:10AM (2/16): Galleries are back! Now if I can just get rid of that blog header… :-/

Update 12:43AM (2/16): I give up – the new header stays!

Check out our little buddy’s blog!

Our 3rd Holiday Season

Merry Christmas 2006!The holidays were great this year! The girls went to see Santa on the 23rd. While we were waiting in line we kept telling them, you better tell Santa what you want or he won’t bring you anything. Finally, when we got up there and it was our turn, Mimi and Yaya sat still on Santa’s lap, but as soon as he asked them “What do you want for Christmas?”, the floodgates just opened and out poured all sorts of toys from either side of him. I think Santa was a little overwhelmed. 🙂

Christmas day was full of gift unwrapping for the girls. They really enjoyed it and got all sorts of toys and clothes (including their EXACT orders from Santa!). Unfortunately one toy they weren’t able to play with was their Dora power wheels atv’s because the batteries needed to charge for 18 hours (!!) before being usable. We figured it would only be about 4 or 5 hours – needless to say we were in for a nasty surprise at 1am on Christmas day. 😛 So, the next day, we opened one up and put it together – only to find out that they’re not really interested in them! Yaya only cared to ride it for a little while and Mimi would not even go near it. Maybe they’ll grow into them… 😉

We all spent new year’s together and the girls got to shoot off confetti poppers – FUN!! 🙂

Daddy’s 30th birthday was full of surprises…first, mommy surprised daddy with a surprise b-day party out with some friends and then daddy’s co-workers surprised him with a lunch out. With gift cards and surprise parties (and a free lunch from the manager at taco bell one day), daddy had free lunches all week!

The 3rd b-day for Mimi and Yaya is right around the corner…:)

There are lots of new pics up – if you haven’t checked them out in a while, please do!

A little behind again – doh!

Sorry, we’re a little behind again on the posts, but here goes…

Barney, the fair, Halloween, Thanksgiving – we’ve been busy! We went and saw the live Barney show the Saturday before Halloween – a fun time was had by all. Once again, the girls are SO well behaved when sitting for long periods of time at movies, shows, etc. 🙂

The next day, we went to the fair and rode rides, saw the animals, ate fair food, and other assorted activities. Mimi and Yaya rode two rides together by themselves (i.e. no parents along with them). They were partially excited and partially terrified. 🙂

For Halloween, the girls were little geisha girls. On a trip to Napa, we stopped by Chinatown in San Francisco and picked up some little oriental clothes and shoes for them and they looked very cute, of course. They had a lot of fun going door to door with mommy and daddy (and mommy and daddy had lots of fun taking them, too!) and saying “Trick or Treat!”. Hopefully, next year, we can get them to say it loud enough so that the people can hear them! 😉

And finally, Thanksgiving…not too much to report here – just a standard Thanksgiving day complete with belly stuffing goodness!

Pictures will be up later tonight…

We uploaded some new photos and videos today. Mommy and Daddy even have some new photos in their gallery from their Holiday Party (including the toys for the Pappas kids) and Mommy’s work party.

We’ll try to get some video up of the babies walking as soon as possible!
