Game Night

Mommy and Daddy along with our pals the Glynn’s partook in a new ritual that they call “GAME NIGHT”. We were a little confused as to how this was going to play out but once we heard there was pizza and a little Wii bowling for us…we were in! Our little buddy Zane had to recharge his batteries for the next day so he turned in early. We definitely showed off our amazing Wii skills to the Glynns and we believe we’re are a shoe in for their bowling league team!

After we went to bed we kept hearing the soothing sounds of Courtney singing SABATOGE from the Beastie Boys and other various hits along with Mike and Daddy playing the guitar and drums. It sounded as if there was a concert in our living room. Since it was past our bedtime one can only hope it was documented. Oh wait…. It was! Check out the footage below!

(Scoop from Mommy & Daddy)

We took the girls to a wedding on Friday the 28th and something magical happened. When it came to the dance portion of the wedding the lights came down, the disco ball came out and so did Mimi! Something magical happened. Mimi turned into a DISCO DIVA! She was showing us moves we have never seen before. Typically in ballet class along with Yasmine they follow the movements of their instructor but are somewhat reluctant to show them off in class by themselves. Thanks to the Disco ball goddess Mia had her moment in time. Enjoy the video!

2008_04_06_003.jpg On March 24th, Mommy and Daddy had their 8th wedding anniversary! That’s twice as long as we’ve even been alive – that’s a pretty long time! We went to Nana and Tata’s while they went out to dinner at Fleming’s and saw a the movie 10,000BC (Mommy didn’t see much of it, she was asleep for half of it! :)).

Happy Easter!

2008_03_23_075.jpg Easter was a lot of fun. We got to celebrate the holiday the entire weekend! We celebrated Saturday at Nana & Tata’s house along with our fellow twins R.J. & Kalyn. We went on an Easter egg hunt and got to color our own eggs! And today was incredible! The Easter bunny left us a trail of eggs that led us to our very own baskets filled with too many goodies to mention. We spent out afternoon at our Uncle Shaun’s and Auntie Erika’s church picnic. We got to go on another hunt which of course WE LOVE! Any event that entails hunting for eggs filled with candy we are all about!

(…and related to Easter…)

We also went to our first dentist appointment! While we did NOT want to get our teeth cleaned, we eventually did and we are proud to say that we’re part of the “No Cavities Club”! We got our picture taken and it was put up on the wall with all the other no-cavity kids.

Accepted!

Preschool!A couple exciting things to report! The girls attended a preschool screening last week to see if they would be able to make it into the preschool program. Although they were shy and didn’t say much, the teachers told us we’d know within the next couple of days if they made it in or not. Well, they called only a couple hours later to let us know that the girls were accepted and that they couldn’t wait to have them in class! After the screening, we spoke to the teachers and they mentioned the idea to us of splitting the girls up into separate classes to allow them to flourish on their own and become more independent. They’ll still have recess together and lots to talk about each day after school, but we liked the idea and are going to give it a try (hopefully, they’ll be ok with it, too!). 🙂

The FarmOver the weekend, we had a fun morning/afternoon on Sunday. We started at IKEA for breakfast. You may laugh at this and say “What does IKEA have to do with breakfast??”. Well, if you’ve ever been in an IKEA store, you know they have a cafe inside (actually two at the one in Phoenix). And you know that their prices are VERY reasonable especially considering that the food is actually pretty good. Breakfast is their best tasting food and it’s SUPER cheap. Where else can a family of 4 eat out for breakfast for under $10?!? Not even McDonald’s is that cheap – and their breakfast food is not nearly as good as IKEA’s. After breakfast, we visited a place in South Phoenix called simply “The Farm”. It’s an old pecan grove that has been partially turned into a farm with other sorts of crops. It’s also got two restaurants and meeting facilities and special events such as weddings and the like can also be hosted there. We also took our professional photos there in 2006. It’s a really nice hidden little place that’s great for bringing your own picnic or eating at one of the restaurants – we also like to pick stuff up from their pie/fruit bar on our way out.

Also, there’s new pics up – go check out the galleries! We also added a permanent link under Favorites to our neighbors’ blog about their new baby Zane – we’ve mentioned it before – it’s called The Human Glynn Project.

The Perfect Saturday

Saturday PicnicThis past Saturday, we went to the closest body of water we have in the Phoenix area – the tempe town lake. We brought a blanket, a picnic basket, a mini-football, and Mayble! We sat down and had lunch (sandwiches that Mommy made) in a grassy area.

After lunch, we started walking down by the edge of the lake and after a couple minutes, we noticed a little toy floating by in the water – what else would it be but a Hello Kitty face! If you’ve looked at the girls’ birthday party pics, you know they LOVE Hello Kitty. How random and how funny!

Tackle Daddy! After that we played some tackle football. Actually, it was mostly Daddy laying down on the ground and Mimi and Yaya jumping on him. 🙂 Our day at the park ended with a walk down the rest of the “shore” of the lake. On the way home, we stopped for some gelato!

Ballet RecitalToday (the 20th, actually), we had the last class of this session of our ballet class which means we had our first recital! 🙂 We got to show Daddy and Nana all our ballet moves (although, we did catch a pretty mean case of stage fright with all the other parents looking on!). There are plenty of pictures up in the group gallery (and if Daddy gets videos working on the website again, we’ll have some videos, too).

Today was also Tata’s birthday so he came over to visit us and we all took a nap! Then we gave him his present that we made for him (a mug that we painted at As You Wish) – he loved it because it was from us! 🙂

All Caught Up!!

FINALLY!! We’re all caught up content-wise (blog entries, photos). All the way through the girls’ 4th (!!) Birthday Party last weekend! 🙂

A couple other things we’ll be working on shortly are more of the header images you see at the top of the main page. We’ll probably add an average of 5 a month or so from here on out so that there will always be something new to see at the top of the page. Also, we’ll be updating the style of the photo galleries and guestbook to match the main page as well as working on a new favicon (the little icon that shows up next to the “http” in your web browser) and then retro-fitting many of our posts with photos!

New Look!

Daddy gave the site a quick facelift. 🙂 We turned the site into a regular blog with links to our photo galleries and guestbook (and external favorites!) on the sidebar. Doing this gave us quite a few options for new graphical themes and we chose one that had clean lines and similar colors to our old layout. We also categorized all the blog posts so you can find posts by categories such as holidays, birthdays, events, outings, family updates (usually, these are updates on what the girls are up to or what they’ve accomplished), etc. We still need to update the themes for the photo galleries and guestbook to match the new front page theme, tho. We also want to make the picture at the top a randomly chosen one from a group of images (UPDATE: this is working now – for now, we’ve got 5 images up there – keep refreshing/visiting until you see them all!). Look for these updates soon!

Let us know what you like or don’t like about the new look!

P.S. Don’t forget, the photo galleries are now linked on the top right —>

P.P.S. Photos links are over there —> 🙂

Update (9:00PM): Photos through the end of 2007 are now up in the galleries! Almost there… 🙂

No, this isn’t a post about the girls when they don’t get what they want. 😉 It’s a little PR for daddy’s new game that was just announced on Valentine’s Day.

Deadly Creatures

Daddy’s been working on this Nintendo Wii-exclusive game for over a year now. He’s mostly been responsible for writing the code for how the wii controller interacts with the game and the code for the combat systems and some of the camera systems. Here are a couple links:http://www.deadlycreaturesgame.com/ – this is the main site where you should always be able to find the latest information

http://wii.ign.com/articles/852/852222p1.html – this is the most in-depth preview that came out on our announcement day, there’s a few exclusive screenshots here that aren’t on the main site
