2008_04_18_308.jpg This past Friday, we all went to see our long-time family friend Shaun get married to his girlfriend of 3+ years Erika. It was a beautiful and fun wedding complete with choreographed entrance walks, a singer, a swing dance by the bride and groom, breakdancers, and a scripted dance by the wedding party (among all the usual wedding hoopla)!

2008_04_18_360.jpg Fun times were had by all and we were happy to finally meet Shaun’s east-coast family and friends. Towards the end of the festivities, Mimi (and Yaya this time, too!) came out to dance again. After seeing the breakdancers, the girls appeared to be trying to duplicate their moves by running and skipping around the dance floor and kicking their legs up higher than usual. Mimi even did a body wave and Yaya did a superman (or girl, as it were) pose! (Sorry for the video quality below, but it was taken with Nana’s camera - watch all the way through to see Mimi’s body wave move!)

New Photo Galleries Up!

After much tedium, the new format photo galleries are up and running! Notice on the sidebar we removed the old folder browser used by the old gallery software and have added simple text links to help you navigate where you want to go.

Each of the “X’s Photos” pages has a link to all of its contained galleries (labeled by month and year, just like the old gallery). Clicking on any of those galleries will get you to a gallery browse page where you can click on any image to see the fullsize version. When viewing the fullsize version, there are links in the bottom (white) part to go to the next and previous image without leaving the fullsize browser.

Next projects are getting caught up (again) on photos and posts and getting the guestbook up and running again (special request from Mommy!). We should also be adding some more title bar images in the near future.

We’ve also touched up the format of the sidebar and added small icons in a couple places for extra polish. :) Please enjoy and let us know what you think!

P.S. We have noticed some problems with how the galleries show up in firefox and safari so if you use either of those browsers, that’s why things might look a bit funny (it’s 2 against 1, so that means internet explorer is probably the one that’s actually displaying it wrong ;). We’ll be working on this in the near future as well…

Tonight we had a dinner party with Courtney and Zane (Mike was unavailable). Zane had heated up mush and the rest of us had barbequed chicken sandwiches and french fries! Here’s a quick video of what Zane thought about it all:

The makeover from the old pink layout to the new and improved pink (oh wait, the girls have notified us it’s fushia - did I spell that right?) layout is almost done. Post formats are set in stone and we’ve got the new flash header with the cool transitioning pictures and the picture viewer on the side. Now we just have to finish getting caught up with adding pictures and a video gallery to the site - stay tuned!

P.S. The link under “Pages” on the sidebar titled “February 2004” is a preview of what our new photo galleries are going to look like.

Update 11:30PM: While Courtney and Mommy were watching Enchanted, we now have our video gallery finally posted! Click on “Videos” under “Pages” on the sidebar on the right –>…or click here. :)

Game Night

Mommy and Daddy along with our pals the Glynn’s partook in a new ritual that they call “GAME NIGHT”. We were a little confused as to how this was going to play out but once we heard there was pizza and a little Wii bowling for us…we were in! Our little buddy Zane had to recharge his batteries for the next day so he turned in early. We definitely showed off our amazing Wii skills to the Glynns and we believe we’re are a shoe in for their bowling league team!

After we went to bed we kept hearing the soothing sounds of Courtney singing SABATOGE from the Beastie Boys and other various hits along with Mike and Daddy playing the guitar and drums. It sounded as if there was a concert in our living room. Since it was past our bedtime one can only hope it was documented. Oh wait…. It was! Check out the footage below!

The Disco Diva

(Scoop from Mommy & Daddy)

We took the girls to a wedding on Friday the 28th and something magical happened. When it came to the dance portion of the wedding the lights came down, the disco ball came out and so did Mimi! Something magical happened. Mimi turned into a DISCO DIVA! She was showing us moves we have never seen before. Typically in ballet class along with Yasmine they follow the movements of their instructor but are somewhat reluctant to show them off in class by themselves. Thanks to the Disco ball goddess Mia had her moment in time. Enjoy the video!

2008_04_06_003.jpg On March 24th, Mommy and Daddy had their 8th wedding anniversary! That’s twice as long as we’ve even been alive - that’s a pretty long time! We went to Nana and Tata’s while they went out to dinner at Fleming’s and saw a the movie 10,000BC (Mommy didn’t see much of it, she was asleep for half of it! :)).

Happy Easter!

2008_03_23_075.jpg Easter was a lot of fun. We got to celebrate the holiday the entire weekend! We celebrated Saturday at Nana & Tata’s house along with our fellow twins R.J. & Kalyn. We went on an Easter egg hunt and got to color our own eggs! And today was incredible! The Easter bunny left us a trail of eggs that led us to our very own baskets filled with too many goodies to mention. We spent out afternoon at our Uncle Shaun’s and Auntie Erika’s church picnic. We got to go on another hunt which of course WE LOVE! Any event that entails hunting for eggs filled with candy we are all about!

(…and related to Easter…)

We also went to our first dentist appointment! While we did NOT want to get our teeth cleaned, we eventually did and we are proud to say that we’re part of the ”No Cavities Club”! We got our picture taken and it was put up on the wall with all the other no-cavity kids.

Preschool!A couple exciting things to report! The girls attended a preschool screening last week to see if they would be able to make it into the preschool program. Although they were shy and didn’t say much, the teachers told us we’d know within the next couple of days if they made it in or not. Well, they called only a couple hours later to let us know that the girls were accepted and that they couldn’t wait to have them in class! After the screening, we spoke to the teachers and they mentioned the idea to us of splitting the girls up into separate classes to allow them to flourish on their own and become more independent. They’ll still have recess together and lots to talk about each day after school, but we liked the idea and are going to give it a try (hopefully, they’ll be ok with it, too!). :)

The FarmOver the weekend, we had a fun morning/afternoon on Sunday. We started at IKEA for breakfast. You may laugh at this and say “What does IKEA have to do with breakfast??”. Well, if you’ve ever been in an IKEA store, you know they have a cafe inside (actually two at the one in Phoenix). And you know that their prices are VERY reasonable especially considering that the food is actually pretty good. Breakfast is their best tasting food and it’s SUPER cheap. Where else can a family of 4 eat out for breakfast for under $10?!? Not even McDonald’s is that cheap - and their breakfast food is not nearly as good as IKEA’s. After breakfast, we visited a place in South Phoenix called simply “The Farm”. It’s an old pecan grove that has been partially turned into a farm with other sorts of crops. It’s also got two restaurants and meeting facilities and special events such as weddings and the like can also be hosted there. We also took our professional photos there in 2006. It’s a really nice hidden little place that’s great for bringing your own picnic or eating at one of the restaurants - we also like to pick stuff up from their pie/fruit bar on our way out.

Also, there’s new pics up - go check out the galleries! We also added a permanent link under Favorites to our neighbors’ blog about their new baby Zane - we’ve mentioned it before - it’s called The Human Glynn Project.

The Perfect Saturday

Saturday PicnicThis past Saturday, we went to the closest body of water we have in the Phoenix area - the tempe town lake. We brought a blanket, a picnic basket, a mini-football, and Mayble! We sat down and had lunch (sandwiches that Mommy made) in a grassy area.

After lunch, we started walking down by the edge of the lake and after a couple minutes, we noticed a little toy floating by in the water - what else would it be but a Hello Kitty face! If you’ve looked at the girls’ birthday party pics, you know they LOVE Hello Kitty. How random and how funny!

Tackle Daddy! After that we played some tackle football. Actually, it was mostly Daddy laying down on the ground and Mimi and Yaya jumping on him. :) Our day at the park ended with a walk down the rest of the “shore” of the lake. On the way home, we stopped for some gelato!
