The girls are three months old today. They’ve discovered that their fists are mighty tasty when they need to be substituted for a missing binkie. 🙂 They’re also starting to give mommy and daddy a little more sleep as the days go on. Between 5 and 7 hours is the norm for now…

After a couple weeks of nothing, there are finally some new pictures to look at today! Enjoy!!

Today was Mia’s and Yasmine’s first Easter! They got an Easter basket filled with clothes and toys. They also ended up with about 3 stuffed bunnies (of all different colors) each! There are lots of pictures of the big day spread across the picture galleries – check them out!

Today Mia and Yasmine got to meet the Easter Bunny for the 1st time! They told him they would like lots of jars of pureed fruit and some formula in their baskets (actually the formula part was more from mom and dad than it was them!).

The pictures that were causing us to go over our quota have been moved to another account and the system is updated to handle this in the future as well. All is back in order – enjoy!

Mia and Yasmine are now 1 month old. They have met over 50 friends and family (including their Great Grandfather) and are an international hit in Mexico. They are called the “Dos Gringas” due to their complexion. They recently had their 1 month check up at the doctor and are doing great. Mia weighed in at 7.4 lbs and 21 inches while Yasmine weighed 7.2 lbs and 20.5 inches. During their examination Yasmine decided to release some stress by relieving herself on Dr. Khan (TWICE!). Mom has already begun to instill the shopping bug into the girls. They have visited quite a few stores and are stopped quite frequently thanks to gushing spectators. We have also discovered they like to be read to in times of panic. It can be anything from a children’s book to a phone bill, as long as you continue to communicate they are amused. We have updated our website with a few pictures from our adventure in the park last Sunday please take a peek.

The girls had their second doctor’s appointment today. Again, everybody is looking great. Mia weighed in at 5 lbs. 13 oz. and her sister was at 5 lbs. 11 oz. Both girls are right back on track after their week one weight dip. Must be all those bottles they down everyday. 😉 They eat about an average of 6 times (each) a day. Phew!!

Today also marks the “official launch” of this website which we hope will serve to chronicle the growth and new events/milestones of our family!

Today, the girls are offically one week old. What a week it’s been! Mommy and Daddy are quickly learning the ups and downs (mostly ups) of parenting. And from what we’ve been told from many other people, our downs aren’t even that bad. The girls routinely sleep 5-6 hrs per night and very rarely have any crying fits.

The ups, however, are more tremendous than we had ever imagined! These two little girls brighten our world beyond belief. Neither Mommy nor Daddy had any idea of how precious and wonderful they would be. They do something amazing (and lots of funny things, too!) everyday. Both girls, at one time or another have held their bottles up while feeding all by themselves (there’s a short video of Yasmine doing this on page 3 of her gallery). They can also grab onto Mommy’s or Daddy’s fingers and hold on tight enough to pull themselves slightly off the ground when we lift our hands. They’re getting stronger and brighter everyday!

The girls had their first doctor’s appointment today. They weighed in at 5 lbs. 6 oz. (Mia) and 4 lbs. 14 oz. (Yasmine). It’s normal for babies to lose weight in their first week of life before they start ramping back up again, so no cause for concern. The doctor said they are both looking great and very healthy.

Unfortunately, they also had to go get their feet pricked to draw blood for a state-required blood test. 🙁 That was not fun, but Daddy was there to hold their hands through it and Mommy and Grandma were there to comfort them afterwards.

The new family is now finally home! The girls (and Mommy) needed to stay at the hospital for 48 hrs (standard practice for twins). But now we’re home and showing the twins their new place to live. 🙂
