Today was the girls’ 1st Halloween! We went down to Nana & Tata’s house in Casa Grande and got dressed up and ready to go trick-or-treating, but we never actually made it out because the girls were a little upset once they got into their costumes. 🙁 We think it probably had a lot to do with their wigs and the fact that they might have gotten a little hot wearing them.

Today we went to the fair with Mommy, Daddy, and Grandma and Grandpa M! We ate lots of fair food and got to ride on the bumblebee ride!

Grandpa won us a big stuffed pug dog playing the watergun shooting game (he beat Mommy and Daddy out for it – but, we don’t care where the toys come from, just that they keep coming)!

Today we’re 8 months old! We’re 2/3 of the way to our 1 year birthday! Pretty sophisticated math for 8 month olds, huh? 🙂

Today we got to go to the local Toys R Us and meet Geoffrey the Giraffe (for those of you not in the know, that’s the Toys R Us mascot) on his birthday. They had cake and fun drawing projects (which we couldn’t do yet, but they looked fun!). Best of all, we got to play with the toys in the store! We tried out wagons and cars – looks at our pictures for details!

Just a quick update on our new abilities (things have been happening so fast it’s been hard for Daddy to keep up, so excuse the lack of updates!):

We’re now crawling around freely on all fours – no more “soldier” crawling! 🙂 We’re also both able to sit up from a crawling position. And we can pull ourselves up to a standing position using the coffee table! We’ve also started “cruising” around the coffee table. This morning Yaya was able to take a few steps with only the help of a walking toy!

It seems like it won’t be long before they’re running circles around Mommy and Daddy! This is all so amazing to watch – and they’re not even 8 mos. old yet!! 🙂

Today is Mommy’s birthday! It’s her first birthday with us. Since it’s a Monday, we went out over the weekend. Nana and Tata took us all out to Black Angus. We had a lot of fun and got to try some ice cream that was part of Nana’s dessert. It was very yummy! Unfortunately, Yaya got sick and threw up a little bit (before the ice cream), but, other than that we had a great time!

Tonight we went and had Mommy’s favorite pizza – Peter Piper Pizza! We sat at the table in high chairs with everyone else. While feeding Yaya some pizza sauce, she bit down and we were clued in to the fact that she has sprouted two little teeth in the bottom front of her mouth! Upon further inspection, we also noticed that Mimi has one tooth coming in in the same place!

We also got to ride the teeter-totter ride. Mimi seemed more than a little worried that she was going to “teeter” off of it, but Yaya loved every minute of it. I guess we know who’s going to be Daddy’s ride buddy at six flags someday and who’s going to keep her feet planted firmly on the ground with Mommy! 🙂 There are videos of us on the ride in our galleries – go check them out!

Happy 7 month birthday to Mimi and Yaya! (No doctor’s appointment this month – Yeay!)

Mommy and Daddy got to witness us crawling along the floor for the first time today! Mommy held a magazine out in front of us and we were so interested in it, we crawled towards it to try and read it for ourselves!

We had our second visit to church today. This time, the whole family went and we actually got to stay in the regular service and listen in. We were very good girls and we didn’t make any fuss the whole time! Mommy and Daddy said we were the best behaved babies in the whole church! Again, we were a big hit with Mommy’s friends from work. 🙂

Tonight during bathtime (which we have together on the weekends because both Mommy and Daddy can be there to help us), Mimi was making waves in the tub by slapping her hand into the water over and over again. Yaya was just trying to stay afloat!
